The modern mobility scooter is a mobility device that is similar in its purpose to the modern motorized or electric wheelchair in that it is intended as a sort of motorized transport for its user. The most noticeable differentiation would probably have to be in their intended role: that the user of the motorized wheel chair is mainly likely remaining in it a large amount of the time and not intending to transfer off and onto the chair simply for going from location to location, where the scooter user would be using the vehicle chiefly just to go from point a to point b and not be on it for any further reason.

For nearly ten years now, I have been employed as a health care worker in a community care environment, and my experiences during this time have given me an increased awareness of the issues that the disabled and the elderly must face in their own homes on a daily basis. One clear concern is that of mobility in and around the home. Many individuals are sentient of how tough it can be to go just about the neighbourhood but dont seem to grasp the challenges involved in getting around one’s own abode.
