The criteria for most people when going on vacation is nearly always dominated by wanting to de-stress. They’ve been working hard all year and just want to get away from it all to blow off a small steam or just forget about it all for a couple of weeks whilst sipping martinis around a pool. What most people are unaware of but, is just how much difference a vacation can have on your health and what it is that makes the difference? Below we examine the benefits that holidays can have on getting you back on the road to recovery.
Sun. Considered a healer even by earliest man, the sun continues to benefit our health in many ways. On top of all the more obvious benefits that the sun brings, such as letting us experience more of the outdoors and giving us a tan, their are deeper, more psychological benefits also. Low levels of light cause the receptors in the eye to trigger a chain reaction in which the body is flooded with melatonin. This makes us feel tired, lethargic and sleepy. When the sun is beaming but, when you’re enjoing hot Canada holidays for example, the eyes take in a lot of light, less melatonin is produced and we feel more energized, pleased and less stressed.
Less anxiety. There is an inbuilt system that gets triggered when we are nervous or are worrying about anything that prepares us for “fight or flight” but does our bodies no excellent at all in the medium-long term. The adrenal glands are stimulated by the hypothalamus to increase the levels or cortisol and adrenaline in the blood. This causes an increase in such bodily functions as breathing, blood pressure and heart rate. If these go on working overtime for any fantastic period then there can be harm done to the body at nearly every level. By going on new and fun trips such as enterttaining Orlando holidays to Disney Land or maybe beach resort America holidays, you’ll get some time away from your problems, get some distractions, and give your body a chance to rest. Believe it or not, many doctors and other medical professionals are now suggesting to their patients to take holidays as a method of combating stress.
